This website, MissingMoney.com, is a database of unclaimed state property records. In other words, if money is owed or if property left by the deceased is unclaimed, they have all the info on it. Only next of kin are able to collect on the money.
So search your parents' names and see if they have anything owed to them. It's at this point you can decide whether to let them know or wait til they punch their clock to collect.
