BLOGGING FROM PRISON

Fascinating daily blog by a nameless inmate currently serving a life sentence in the Texas Penitentiary. Because it would be impossible to update the blog daily from prison, he has a friend outside of jail help him run the blog which is where it gets its name from: PrisonProxy.blogspot.com.

The way it works is he hand writes and mails 5 posts once a week to a friend outside of the jail. His friend then types out a post for each day that week. You can post comments or e-mail the blog and the friend will mail all of them back to the inmate who can then respond to you personally or through his blog.

The inmate is in his 20's and has a real humanizing voice that quickly clears any stereotypes you might have about someone in prison, especially someone serving a life sentence. He gives you some amazing insight into what it's like adjusting to his new life as well as the culture and politics of prison life.
