Thought this was an interesting theory, whether it's true or not.
When trying to find a good neighborhood to invest in buying a home, Starbucks may be a great guide. According to Newsweek's Daniel McGinn, just finding out where they're planning to build their next locations might a great area to look into. People think they just try to keep no more than a mile between each location, but Starbucks and other franchises actually have entire teams that are dedicated to economic and demographic research to find where the best new places are to expand. So when they pick a spot, it means they're research gives them confidence about the economy and potential of that neighborhood.
Just start by going to Starbucks.com and under the store locater tab, just seach the "coming soon" option.
